MARC PHILLIPS SHOWROOM

The showroom, housed in a 1940s structure with two story framing on La Cienega Boulevard in Los Angeles, was transformed into a rustic yet modern setting perfect to display Marc Phillip's amazing collection of over 3,000 rugs.  Jamie took the dark grey, industrial exterior and contrasted it with rustic interior details like a white painted brick fireplace and vintage leather seating for a warm, barn-like interior.

Inspired by what Le Corbusier called the "machine in the garden,” Jamie also set out to present a simple yet industrial architectural form surrounded by wild, overgrown greenery. Over time this building is then intended to become enveloped by vines and grasses much like you would see on a farm.
